Vacirca Vaughn is a graduate of New York University and the recipient of the 1997 Robert Heinzche Prize for Literature Excellence and Appreciation. Her poetry has been published in The Looking Glass Literary Magazine, and New York University's critically-acclaimed Minette Review. Serving as poetry editor for both the Minetta Review and Da Verse, Ms. Vaughn's goal has been to allow the multicultural and contemporary aspects of poetry to be celebrated and recognized. A spoken word artist, Ms. Vaughn has performed in various venues in the Tri-State area. Her work was featured in the 1998 New York International Independent Film & Video Festival. Currently a freelance writer and performance artist, Ms. Vaughn plans to continue publishing her work as well as start a Hip Hop performance poetry group.
