Stephen Van Gaasbeck Young Adult |
|
Stephen Van Gaasbeck was born and raised in upstate New York and is a graduate of Alfred University, Alfred, New York. An early interest in computers led to a full-time programming career in private industry in the Washington, D.C. area. While working as a contractor in support of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, Mr. Van Gaasbeck developed an evolving "layman's" interest in NASA's space flight programs and as a corollary to that, an interest in early pioneering efforts in lighter-than-air flying machines--dirigibles in particular. Solar-powered dirigibles are one of many technical advances featured in Mr. Van Gaasbeck's first novel, Geblicon. In writing Geblicon, Mr. Van Gaasbeck has drawn upon his varied technical interests and innate soothsayer talents to weave a brilliant SF/adventure story--one that should please both young and old alike. |
