Ned Hayes is a novelist and poet who was raised bilingually in China. He has been the recipient of fellowships from Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington and Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota and admission to the Rainier Writing Workshop. His poetry, fiction, and non-fiction has appeared in Mid-American Review, Hot Ink, Labyrinth, Twig, Lost Creek, Simul and many other publications. He recently completed a complete retelling of Milton's Paradise Lost in contemporary verse. His first novel, Sinful Folk Unstable, a story of the medieval era, is forthcoming in 2010 from Knopf.
