Maureen Piano holds a journalism degree from Arizona State University. When Flamingos Fly is her first children's book. She is also the author of My Adventure to the Wonders of the World and has written a second My Adventure for Orchard Academy Press called My Adventure with Tide Pools. In addition to her writing career, Ms. Piano is a public speaker and is raising her two daughters in her hometown of Phoenix, Arizona.
