Gerald Cline enlisted in the US Air Force in 1968. Instead of being sent to Spain, Germany or England, his first set of orders read: Cam Ranh Bay, Republic of Vietnam. Trained as a medic, he spent the first part of his tour at the hospital at Cam Rahn Bay and was later transferred to Phu Cat AB. At Phu Cat, he helped run a free clinic for local residents. Upon his return to the States, he experienced the antiwar venom firsthand when there was an attempted firebombing of his parents' home. Years later, he began writing this series of stories based on his and other vets' experiences--both in Vietnam and at home. By This Author |
