Evelyn Swift was born and brought up in Nottingham, England, a member of a 'lace family.' She has lived in Germany and Switzerland, and returned to England to research the lace industry, which at the beginning of the last century was world-renowned. She has three sons and now lives with her husband in El Dorado Hills, California, U.S.A.
