Christina Bauer Young Adult, Educational |
|
Christina Bauer first learned about Grace O'Malley when founding Mindful Technologies, a software start-up headquartered in Boston, MA. In directing her own company, Christina became interested in female leaders throughout history. Soon she'd collected the tales of dozens of hidden heroines, from explorer and big game hunter Delia Akeley, who crossed the then-unexplored desert country between Kenya's Tana River and Ethiopia by camel caravan; to Empress Wu Zetain of China, who first introduced the practice of standardized job testing around 700 AD. Christina began writing about Grace O'Malley as a hobby, but it quickly grew into a full-blown passion. Although The Pirate Queen is Christina's first foray into young adult fiction, she has been a professional writer for more than a decade. Christina began her career as a copywriter for advertising agencies in New York and Pennsylvania. Over time, she moved into corporate marketing and public relations for various technology companies before founding her own venture. Christina holds dual degrees with honors from Syracuse University in English and Television, Radio and Film Production. She lives with her husband, son and private library of hidden heroines in Boston, MA. Visit the author online at By This Author |
